The Course

Hole #1 – Par 4

The opening hole starts the round off with a shorter par 4. Any fairway tee shot short of the left fairway bunker will set you up for a shorter approach shot into a relatively large green. Avoid going right, as out of bounds runs up the entire right side.

Hole #2 – Par 4

All about tee shot placement. Not necessarily a driver hole. Any tee shot finding the fairway will make the approach shot easier, as water guards the green in front and to the left. Avoid the right side as out of bounds runs the length of the hole.

Hole #3 – Par 5

Shorter in length, but extremely narrow off the tee. Out of bounds runs the length of the hole down the right side, so anything to the left is safe. A well-placed tee shot down the middle will leave the player going for the green in two. Be sure of your yardage, as bunkers guard this narrow left to right shaped green.

Hole #4 – Par 3

The 1st of four Par 3’s. Check the wind as this hole plays longer than you think. It’s a large green, but well protected by multiple bunkers. Three is a good score.

Hole #5 – Par 5

Keep your tee shot favoring the left side as out of bounds and a bunker loom on the right. Longer hitters can give it a go in two with a solid tee shot, but a small green awaits. Play a 2nd to a yardage you like and have a wedge in to create some spin as this green plays firm. Anything long could be OB.

Hole #6 – Par 4

Dogleg left. Big hitters can take it over the left bunkers and shorten the hole, leaving just a wedge in hand for their 2nd. The play is to the right of the fairway bunkers avoiding trouble. It’s a longer approach into a bigger green, but the fairway is better than the left trees. It’s the #1 handicap hole, so making par is a great score.

Hole #7 – Par 4

Straight away long par 4. Keep your tee shot favoring the right side to avoid being blocked out on the left by big trees. The approach requires judging the wind correctly to get the distance right to avoid the short bunkers left and right.

Hole #8 – Par 3

The 2nd of four Par 3’s. Water guards the front and travels around to the left. Two bunkers, one left and one right defend the sides leaving little room for error. Get the wind right and you’ll have a birdie putt.

Hole #9 – Par 4

A small dogleg right with a large fairway bunker on the left require an accurate tee shot even though it appears wide open. A miss off the tee left or right is safe, but you’ll be forced to escape the tree lines. The green is well guarded by multiple bunkers left and right making the approach shot harder than it looks.

Hole #10 – Par 4

A little dogleg right, shorter in length, but gets narrow in the landing area. The tee shot can be short of the left fairway bunkers or bigger hitters can try and cut the corner. Miss it right and you’re back in the tree line. An approach from the fairway won’t be a long one. Keep the ball below the hole here as it gets fast back to front on the green.

Hole #11 – Par 3

The 3rd of four Par 3’s. Wind is a factor. This elevated green, well-guarded by green side bunkers and a big pond left requires hitting a solid shot. Bailing out right away from the trouble puts the player well below the green surface in thick, rough. The green has severe slope and can be tricky. Three is a great score here.

Hole #12 – Par 5

A long par 5 with plenty of space to hit it off the tee. Avoid the fairway bunkers off the tee and your setup to hit a calculated lay up to have a wedge in for your third, eliminating the left and right tree line. Big hitters might give it a go with a solid tee shot. However, the smaller green is well protected by a deep, large bunker in the front. Choose wisely.

Hole #13 – Par 4

Straight away par 4 with some length. Typically plays into the wind making it play longer than the yardage. Avoid the fairway bunkers on the left side off the tee. The green is larger in size but is guarded by big bunkers left and right.

Hole #14 – Par 4

A long par 4 where a solid tee shot is key. A big fairway bunker and trees left and right await. Avoid those, and you’ll have an approach shot into the largest green on the golf course. Make a par, and your drink at the halfway house tastes even better!

Hole #15 – Par 4

One of the toughest Par 4’s on the golf course. Long in length and well defended with out of bounds down the entire right side and big trees to the left. The green is severely sloped back to front, so make sure you stay below the hole. Two great shots here will setup a rare birdie chance.

Hole #16

The 4th and final Par 3. The hole location is key. It could be top left or down in the bottom right. Make sure you’re on the right level as putting can be tricky on this green as a big slope and spine run through the green. The tee shot is slightly elevated but can play back into the wind. The green is defended on all sides by multiple bunkers.

Hole #17 – Par 4

Shorter in length, but narrow. The fairway is key as left and right is trouble with big trees on both sides. Your approach shot must be precise as this is the smallest green on the golf course. It’s guarded by bunkers short, left and right. Hitting the green gives you a relatively short birdie putt.

Hole #18 – Par 5

A great finishing hole to the round with risk reward opportunity. A large pond sits down the right side off the tee. Carry it far enough and you’ll gain some extra distance by cutting off some of the corner. Big hitters can get there in two with a well-placed tee shot over and left of the water. However, any tee shot avoiding the water is good. A precise lay-up is required as a fairway cross bunker is strategically placed on the left side. The green size is large and guarded by bunkers both on the left and right side. Give yourself a good number for your third and cap your round off with a birdie.
